XWidget - DESKTOP TOOL

DESKTOP TOOL
XWidge
DOWNLOAD
Min requirements: Windows XP/Vista/7
File size: 6.5MB

XWidget is a smart and stylish alternative to the built-in widgets you get with Windows, that includes lots of useful customisation options. The installed selection includes widgets for weather, search, RSS, notes, photos and system activity, but there are plenty more available from the XWidget Gallery. You can browse featured items, or explore by category, and download any that take your fancy. These will appear instantly on your Desktop. Installed widgets can be displayed or hidden through the Manage Widgets window. They can also be accessed using the dashboard that appears as a strip along the bottom of the screen. Right-click a widget to configure it (the options available will depend on the particular widget). You can change its position, size and opacity, and lock it into position. You can also change a widget’s look and function by clicking Edit and launching the XWidget Designer. This is a surprisingly powerful tool that lets you tweak various settings, such as the position and scale of an element, its colour and any text. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even create your own widgets from scratch. This is easier than you might think, since you are provided with a ready-made selection of animations and actions to play around with. You can find a couple of simple tutorials that will help to get you started at http:// bit.ty/xwidget279.
